VVS Classic Chekku Oil

VVS Classic Chekku Oil (Traditionally cold pressed sesame oil / Nallennai) has an exclusive smooth flavour and aroma. Classic Chekku nallennai has tremendous antioxidants properties and is perfect for tempering of poriyals and chutneys. This is due to the traditional heat-less extraction process that we use, compared to the other commercial refined oil extraction processes. Our VVS Chekku Nallennai has a very strong taste, so a little goes a long way. This makes it the right fit for everyday cooking. Therefore, VVS Classic Chekku oil is less pungent and so smooth that it is the “GOLD” standard for cold pressed sesame oil / Nallennai.

1. Best sesame seeds are handpicked

Sesame seeds are grown all over India at different seasons. White, Red and black varieties of sesame seeds have different aroma, oil content, acidity and flavour. We make sure that only the best amongst these seeds are selected to be part of VVS Tirupthi Sesame seeds for processing for the cold pressing extraction process to get VVS Classic Chekku Oil.

2. The Sesame seeds are sun
dried

We use traditional methods to sun dry these sesame seeds so as to remove all moisture. This process is time consuming yet helps us to retain all the nutrition of the sesame seeds for the next process of extraction of cold pressed sesame oil.

3. Cleaning Process

At VVS, we use four different processes of cleaning to make sure that all impurities are removed and only the best amongst these sesame seeds are retained for crushing. This step towards hygiene  ensures that we can extract the best standard Nallennai.

4. Cold pressing with Jaggery (Karupatti)

VVS Classic Cold pressed sesame oil is totally organic and free from any added chemicals. For instance, cold pressed oils are extracted without using external heat. This, in other words, saves all nutrition and original properties of the sesame seeds. We also use Karupatti (Palm Jaggery) in this process of cold pressed extraction of VVS Classic Chekku oil. This has a direct effect on how our nallennai tastes in your food and the abundant amount of aroma and nutrients it has to offer.

On the other hand, other companies use heat to extract the oil, this method produces more oil compared to cold pressed methods, but the external heat used can degrade the oil’s flavor and nutritional value. R
efined oil produced by heat intervened extraction method does not retain its original structure.


Whereas, cold pressed extraction method does not alter the properties of the oil which contains a much higher phenolic and original nutrient content of the sesame seeds. 
Using cold pressed extraction method produces higher quality oil, but it in lesser quantities. Cold pressed oils retain all their flavour, aroma, and nutritional value, making these oils great for cooking and skin care requirements. They contain zero grams of trans fatty acids and are naturally cholesterol-free
